Peace and quiet and FAR from Yaletown, where I lived for ten years before it became pretentious, annoying and everyone who is no-one moved-partied-pretended lived there.
What’s your favourite thing to do on a weekend in West Vancouver?
Driving around the older communities and exploring.
Do you have any secret haunts yet?
Our Cactus Club is the best in Vancouver. And I love Beach Side Café -- it’s where my husband proposed to me!

The community feel and the close proximity to everything you want to do.
What’s your favourite thing to do on a weekend in West Vancouver?
Ramble down to Lighthouse Park. It’s a great place to take the dogs. White Cliff Park
Is also a fantastic weekend plan: walk across to the island when the tide is low and have a picnic on top.
How long does it really take it get across the bridge to Vancouver in the morning rush?
5 minutes!
Fun facts about West Vancouver:
It has the most populated dog beach in the city – one the easternmost side of Ambleside Beach, at the mouth of the Capilano River.

What do you like best about West Vancouver?
- Dundarave Village – a quaint and beautiful place to visit. Try the seawalk to Dundarave Pier, or relax at one of the area’s great coffee shops
- West Vancouver’s fantastic provincial park, Cypress Bowl. It’s my favourite place to snowshoe in the winter and partake of hot chocolate in the snow!
- I love West Vancouver’s huge marinas, bays and coves with their own parks and beaches
