West Vancouver FC earned three much needed points on Saturday afternoon in a hard fought battle against the Vancouver Firefighters. The final scoreline of 3-2 shows just how tight a contest this game really was. The local team opened the scoring just 5 minutes into the game after striker Jesse Fetterly was sent on a break away. Firefighters equalised soon after when they were awarded a suspicious penalty shot. West Van regained the lead in the second half when defender Leo Nash headed home on a corner kick. But the persistant Vancouver team again came storming back, scoring on a corner kick of their own. With five minutes left in the match, West Vancouver were awarded a golden opportunity when veteran Mike Dodd was taken down in the penalty box. Ex-whitecap Paul Dailly calmly slotted the penalty home to seal the win for him team.
